8 Foods that protect you from flu and cold

Fever, stuffy nose or chills are just some of the symptoms that bother you when you’re cold. Your mood is not a good one at all, and everything around you seems to be depressing just because you’re cold. To prevent colds and to strengthen your immune system, here’s what to eat:

Garlic. To strengthen the immune system, garlic is the basic food. One piece of garlic to cut into smaller teats helps to get rid of colds, sore throats, bad breath and, of course, cold symptoms.

Chicken Soup. When you are cold, many of the foods do not have the same taste. Chicken soup is a cure for colds because it contains amino acids, but also magnesium and calcium phosphate, which the body needs to fight.

Yogurt. We already know that yogurt contains probiotics, namely, good bacteria that help the immune system. And because the immune system has about 80% of the roots in the intestines, it is best to protect it with foods containing these good bacteria.

Broccoli. Consumption of broccoli helps both to strengthen the immune system and to detoxify the body. It contains high amounts of vitamin C and calcium and is only good to eat when you are cold.

Spinach. Also for a rich immune system, to prevent colds and flu, consume spinach. It is rich in folic acid and vitamin C and helps you stay away from all the unpleasant cold symptoms.

Mushrooms. It is said that when you are cold, the body needs vitamin D. And as a large amount of vitamin D gets the body from the sun, but during winter it does not look too often, the mushrooms are among the few foods that have vitamin D composition. Moreover, they are also recommended to prevent cancer.

Grapefruit. For a strong immune system, nutritionists recommend us to introduce our diet several times a week and grapefruit consumption. You can make home juices, but do not add too much sugar.

Cinnamon. It has antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties, and is the ideal food for colds. To prevent flu, it is best to consume a small amount of cinnamon every day in various dishes.
